Smell:
Deep earthy sweetness, mixed with some hints of mint, pine, and kush. Where the Gelato Mints is bright and forward, the Gelatti required me to get my nose into the jar, but its smell is fire.

More purple!

Look/Breakdown:
Dark green and dark purple leaves on the outside that break down to a brighter purple/magenta on the inside of the buds. Really beautiful nug structure, dense buds, thick coating of crystals and light brown hairs; trichomes and stigmas.
Upon being broken down by hand there’s a stronger smell of sweet gassy kush. When ground up, I got a very appealing mix of purple and green colors. The smell in the grinder is so nice! It gave me hints of Pine Sol.
Feel wise, there is a bit of moisture and stickiness after being broken down that I liked. It left a finger print on the screen of my phone.

Flavor:
Strong minty gas that has some sweetness and creaminess to it.

How it smokes:
Smooth smoke that didn’t cause coughing on the first two pulls.

Effects:
Listed as a 50/50 Hybrid, the body high is heavier than the head high, but they are both strong.
Gelatos in general are hybrids, but I’ve found #41 to have stronger effects on my body than #33. This was no different, perhaps a little more leaning to the Indica side because of the cross with Florida OG. My cheeks and forehead felt it the most with the head high, and it left me with a tingling/buzz feeling. When smoked in succession, the effects don’t stack too heavily, making this a great smoke in social settings with friends who will pack bowl after bowl. Be mindful of dosage, 3+ bowls put me in the couch.

Thoughts:
This was my first go round with a full 3.5g of Gelatti, previously I got a couple buds from Straintasters after doing a review, and it didn’t disappoint me at all. This is something people should smoke this year, and will be on my Priority List whenever it drops.
There is so much to like about the Gelatti! Look, smell, bud structure, effects all top notch. The buds are just grown really fucking well… they feel light but are actually very dense, and the purple underneath was great to see; common theme amongst all four cultivars from Grindhouse. As for the effects, I honestly got what i was hoping for from the Gelato #41, a hybrid that effects more of the body than the Gelato #33. Making it ideal for unwinding, relaxing, and spending time on the couch reading, watching tv, or gaming.
Unsurprisingly, Gelato #41’s genetics show it’s strength with a nice sweet, creamy smell when the jar is opened. The difference with Gelatti is a muted sweetness, with some mint/kush/pine instead of berries; Tranquil Forest’s Gelato #41 has a cloyingly sweet cream and berries smell. I feel like the berries are almost completely gone in the Gelatti. It doesn’t take away from the smell or flavor, just makes for a nice change from cultivars with the super sweetness of #41 in it’s lineage; Runtz, White Runtz, OMFG, Wowzers, Gelly Burger.
Overall, I think Gelatti is a superb product from a great I502 producer that is new (to me) this year. It’s earned a spot in my Top 25 last week, sitting at #8, and for this release is #2 behind Gelato Mints. Despite my personal opinion, Gelatti is currently more popular and sells out faster than Gelato Mints, Do Si Dos, and GMO Cookies at The Bakeree; it sold out in one day at the Georgetown location. Popular opinion seems to be Gelatti is the favorite.
