Grindhouse: GMO Cookies

Grindhouse: GMO Cookies

#3 in the recent drop is Grindhouse’s version of GMO aka GMO Cookies. This hasn’t made an appearance in my Top 25 for the week of August 9-15, but it will this next week. Of the GMO’s that I’ve smoked this year, this one has the potential to be one of the best.

Smell:
Garlicky, earthy, gas, pine, and kush. It’s funky and slightly sweet, with some mint too it’s really strong smelling which is what I want from a GMO. I went back to open the jar and smell it a few times. There’s also a savory biscuit or cookie smell as well.

Look/Breakdown:
After grinding the nugs down the smell of gassy pine and bright greens caught my attention, along with that good ol GMO funk. These buds are light and fluffy, compared to the dense buds of the Gelatti and Gelato Mints. The trichome layer on this is consistent and on par with the trichome levels of the other Grindhouse cultivars, which is a lot of them. The consistency across the board with this round did impress me and is something to take note of. If there are slight differences that are noticeable, the GMO Cookies were cured well and not as dry as the Do Si Dos.
The purple leaves on the inside of the buds is also a consistent thing for all of the cultivars from Grindhouse this drop. See photo below for the evidence of the purple and trichome coverage.

Flavor:
Kush and a nice funky flavor and after taste that also has a slight sweetness to it. It’s a great tasting GMO with it’s earthy funkiness.

How it smokes:
Thick smoke that might make you cough. It got me on the first pull, but not after that. It did get my friend to cough on a regular basis.

Effects:
Relaxation starts after the 3rd pull, and my arms and limbs could feel it the most. My typing slowed down a little bit, and I didn’t mind that at all. Feel it in my face, eyelids are lower, and my eyes are slightly drier. I wonder if this is a result of the Chem D?

Thoughts:
Lately I’ve been more and more impressed with Chem Dawg and it’s many children. The face high that hits my eyes is perfect in the right situations, and cultivars like GMO Cookies and Motorbreath #15 showcase it well even when crossed with something else.
The head and body high are strong enough that I didn’t really want to move from my spot while typing this review, so I barely moved. This isn’t a morning wake and bake kind of weed if I want to be active, this is a morning wake and bake and go back to sleep kind of smoke. I was pleasantly surprised by the strength of the GMO Cookies during and after the first bowl. I’m curious about smoking a GMO Cookies & Gelato Mints bowl, or a GMO Cookies & Gelatti bowl.
